The most satisfying aspect of running this site is the feedback I receive from visitors from all over the world.  Many of the machines featured on this site come to me through the generosity of such people.  One of these is Stuart Blacklock who owns over 200 tape recorders.

The Leevers Rich was built in Croydon, London in 1961 and Stuart brought it from a friend in Tottness, Devon.  Prior to that it was owned by the BBC (British Broadcasting Company) as an "out on the field" machine and as they were replacing the older Leevers with TASCAMS and STUDERS, Stuart's friend snapped up this unit.

On finding that it did not work properly, he sold it to Stuart for 75 pounds, (he says he has almost got it fully working but needs to get a new motor for it).  This was a professional machine whose rivals at its time (in Britain) were Ampex and Studer.
